Θυµήσου, σώµα...

Σώµα, θυµήσου όχι µόνο το πόσο αγαπήθηκες,
όχι µονάχα τα κρεββάτια όπου πλάγιασες,
αλλά κ’ εκείνες τες επιθυµίες που για σένα
γυάλιζαν µες στα µάτια φανερά,
κ’ ετρέµανε µες στην φωνή – και κάποιο
τυχαίον εµπόδιο τες µαταίωσε.
Τώρα που είναι όλα πια µέσα στο παρελθόν,
µοιάζει σχεδόν και στες επιθυµίες
εκείνες σαν να δόθηκες – πώς γυάλιζαν,
θυµήσου, µες στα µάτια που σε κύτταζαν·
πώς έτρεµαν µες στην φωνή, για σε, θυµήσου, σώµα.

Remember, Body...

Body, remember not only how much you were loved,
not only the beds on which you lay,
but also those desires which for you
plainly glowed in the eyes,
and trembled in the voice -- and some
chance obstacle made them futile.
Now that all belongs to the past,
it is almost as if you had yielded
to those desires too -- remember,
how they glowed, in the eyes looking at you;
how they trembled in the voice, for you, remember, body.

Recuerda, cuerpo, no sólo cuánto se te amó,
no solo los lechos donde estuviste echado,
más también aquellos deseos que, por ti,
en miradas brillaron claramente
y en la voz se estremecieron –y que un
obstáculo fortuito los frustró.
Ahora que todo se halla en el pasado,
parece casi que a los deseos
aquellos te hubieras entregado –cómo brillaban,

Ricorda non solo quanto fosti amato, corpo,
non solo i letti sopra cui giacesti,
ma anche quei desideri che per te
brillavano negli occhi apertamente,
tremavano nella voce – resi vani
da qualche impedimento casuale.
Ora che tutto è parte del passato,
è come se ti fossi concesso
anche a quei desideri – ricordali brillare
negli occhi volti verso te,
tremare nella voce, per te, ricorda, corpo.

Corps, souviens-toi, non seulement de combien tu fus aimé,
non pas seulement des lits où tu t’étendis,
mais aussi de ces désirs qui pour toi
brillaient dans les yeux visiblement,
et tremblaient dans la voix ― et que quelque
obstacle fortuit rendit vains.
Maintenant que tout cela plonge dans le passé,
il semble presque qu’à ces désirs
tu te sois donné. Comme ils brillaient
souviens-toi, dans les yeux qui te regardaient,
comme ils tremblaient dans la voix, pour toi ; souviens-toi, corps.

o uzanmış olduğun yatakları değil yalnızca,
ama o arzuları da anımsa: Gözlerde
senin için sakınmadan parıldayanları
