"El mundo está detenido ante el hambre que asola a los pueblos. Mientras haya desequilibrio económico, el mundo no piensa. Yo lo tengo visto. Van dos hombres por la orilla de un río. Uno es rico, otro es pobre. Uno lleva la barriga llena, y el otro pone sucio el aire con sus bostezos. Y el rico dice: ‘¡Oh, qué barca más linda se ve por el agua! Mire, mire usted el lirio que florece en la orilla’. Y el pobre reza: ‘Tengo hambre, no veo nada. Tengo hambre, mucha hambre’. Natural. El día que el hambre desaparezca va a producirse en el mundo la explosión espiritual más grande que jamás conoció la humanidad. Nunca jamás se podrán figurar los hombres la alegría que estallará el día de la gran revolución."

"The world is paralysed in the face of the hunger which is devastating entire peoples. As long as this economic imbalance exists, the world cannot think. I have seen it. Two men are walking along a river bank. One is rich, the other is poor. One has a full belly, the other is polluting the air with his yawns. And the rich man says, "What a pretty boat on the river. Look at the lilies flowering on the bank." And the poor man says, "I'm hungry. I can't see anything. I'm hungry, very hungry". Naturally. The day when hunger is eradicated there is going to be the greatest spiritual explosion the world has ever seen. We’ll never be able to imagine the joy that will erupt when the Great Revolution comes."

"Ekonomik eşitsizlik var olduğu sürece dünya düşünmeyecek. Bunu daha önce de gördüm. İki adam bir nehrin kenarına gider. Biri zengindir, öteki yoksul. Birinin göbeği kocamandır, ötekinin esnemesi havayı kirletir. Ve zengin adam, 'Ah ne kadar da güzel bir gemi şu suyun üzerinde giden. Baksana şu kıyıda açan zambaklara' der. Ve yoksul adam, 'Ben açım hiçbir şey göremiyorum. Açım, çok açım.' Açlığın dünyadan silindiği gün, gelmiş geçmiş en büyük duygusal ve manevi hisler patlaması yaşanacak. O büyük devrim gününde, zevki ve güzelliği resmedemeyen insanlar tüm zincirlerini koparacak."
