¡Cómo me dejas que te piense!
Pensar en ti no lo hago solo, yo.
Pensar en ti es tenerte,
como el desnudo cuerpo ante  los besos,
toda ante mí, entregada.
Siento cómo te das a mi memoria,
cómo te rindes al pensar ardiente,
tu gran consentimiento en la distancia.
Y más que consentir, más que entregarte,
me ayudas, vienes hasta mí, me enseñas
recuerdos en escorzo, me haces señas
con las delicias, vivas, del pasado,
invitándome.
Me dices desde allá
que hagamos lo que quiero
—unirnos— al pensarte.
Y entramos por el beso que me abres,
y pensamos en ti, los dos, yo solo.

How you let me think of you!
Thinking of you isn’t something I do alone.
Thinking of you is having you before me,
like the naked body before the kiss,
all of you before me, surrendered.
I feel how you give yourself to my memory,
how you yield to the burning thought,
your great consent in the distance.
And more than consent, more than surrender,
you help me, you come toward me, you show me
foreshortened memories, you signal to me
with the living enchantments of the past,
inviting me.
You tell me from there
to do what I want,
to come together, when I think of you.
And we enter through the kiss you open to me,
and we think of you, both of us, when I do.

Oh, quanto ti lasci pensare!
Pensarti, io, non lo faccio da solo.
Pensarti è possederti,
come davanti ai baci il corpo nudo,
tutta per me, offrendoti.
Sento come ti dai alla mia memoria,
come ti arrendi ad un pensare ardente,
il tuo grande assentire da distanza.
E più che acconsentire, più che offrirti,
mi aiuti, vieni fino a me, mi mostri
dei ricordi di scorcio, mi fai cenni
con le delizie, vive, del passato,
invitandomi.
Mi dici da laggiù
faremo quel che vuoi,
unirci, nel pensarti.
Ed entriamo nel bacio che mi apri,
e ti pensiamo tutti e due, io solo.
