Sorriso audível das folhas,
Não és mais que a brisa ali.
Se eu te olho e tu me olhas,
Quem primeiro é que sorri?
O primeiro a sorrir ri.

Ri, e olha de repente,
Para fins de não olhar,
Para onde nas folhas sente
O som do vento passar.
Tudo é vento e disfarçar.

Mas o olhar, de estar olhando
Onde não olha, voltou;
E estamos os dois falando
O que se não conversou.
Isto acaba ou começou?

Audible smile of the leaves,
You're nothing more than a breeze.
If I watch you and you watch me
Who is the first to smile?
The first to smile now laughs.

Laughs and quickly looks
So as not to be looking
There where in the leaves
One feels the wind is passing.
It's all a wind and a masking.

But the looking, to be looking
Where one's not looking, has returned;
And the two of us are speaking
That which was never spoken.
Is this an end or a beginning?

Audible smile of the leaves,
Just the wind at that place,
If I gaze at you and you gaze
At me, who is it that smiles
First? The first to smile laughs.

Laughs, and gazes suddenly
So as not to gaze,
At where can be sensed in leaves
The noise of the breeze as it goes.
All is breeze and disguise.

But the gaze has returned from long
Gazing where gaze there's none;
And we two stand talking on
Of what words, as usual, shun.
Is it ending or begun?

Hojas, audible sonrisa,
apenas rumor de viento.
Si yo te miro y me miras,
¿quién primero se sonríe?
El primero luego ría.

Ríe y mira de repente,

Sourire audible des feuilles,

Si je te regarde et que tu me regardes,
Quel est le premier à sourire ?
Le premier à sourire rit.

Rit, et regarde soudain,
A dessein de ne pas regarder,
Vers où, dans les feuilles, il sent
Passer le son du vent.
Tout est vent et déguisement.

Mais le regard, qui a tant regardé
Où il ne regardait pas, s’est retourné ;
Et nous parlons tous les deux

Duyulan gülümseyişi yaprakların,
Yalnızca bir esintisin sen.
Ben seni seyrediyorsam, sen de beni,
Kimdir ilk gülümseyecek olan?
Gülüyor şimdi ilk gülümseyen.

Gülüyor ve hemen bakıyor
Baktığı belli olmasın diye
