Soneto XXIV / Pablo Neruda

SONETO XXIV

SONNET XXIV

Love, love, towards the tower of the sky, the clouds
climbed like triumphant washerwomen
and everything burned in blue, everything a star:
the sea, the ship, the day were banished together.

Come see the cherry trees of a water constellation
and the round key of the rapid universe,
come touch the fire of instantaneous blue,
come before its petals are consumed.

Nothing here but light, quantities, clusters,
space opened by the virtues of the wind
until it sheds the last secrets of the foam.

And amidst so many sky-blues, submerged,
our eyes are lost barely guessing
the powers of the air, the underwater keys.

Pablo Neruda - (100 Love Sonnets, 1959)

SONNET XXIV

Love, Love, the clouds in the sky’s tower
mounted like triumphant purifying fountains,
and all glowed blue, all was star-like:
sea, boat, day, fused and banished.

Come and see the cherries of water that appeared,
and the whole scale of the swift universe,
come and touch the fire of the blue instant,
come before its petals are consumed.

Nothing here lacks light, number, clusters,
space opened up by the wind’s virtues,
until it delivers the sea-foam’s last secret.

And among so many blues, celestial, submerged,
our eyes are lost barely divining
the powers of air, the underwater gushers.

SONNET XXIV

Pablo Neruda - (La centaine d'amour, 1959)

SONETTO XXIV

salirono come trionfanti lavandaie,
e tutto arse d'azzurro, tutto fu stella:

Vieni a vedere i ciliegi dell'acqua costellata

Pablo Neruda - (Cento Sonetti D'amore, 1959)

SONE XXIV

Aşk, aşk diyerek tırmandı bulutlar
utkulu çamaşırcılar gibi göğün kulelerine,
ne varsa yandı mavilikte, ne varsa yıldız oldu;
Deniz, gemi, gün, sürgün oldular birlikte.

Gel görmeye kirazlarını iklim suyunun
ve toparlak çalgısını hızlı evrenin,
gel çalmaya ateşini anlık mavinin,
gel, taçyapraklar kendini yiyip bitirmeden.

Işıktan bol bir şey yok burada, saymakla bitmez eşya,
salkımlar.. rüzgârın emeğiyle kazanılmış bir yer,
sönünceye köpüğün son gizleri.

Gömülü gözlerimiz bu kutsal maviliklerde,
alır almaz gelecekten bir haber
havanın güçlerini, okyanus anahtarlarını yitirdiler.
